Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, warned that the current stalemate in negotiations and cooperation with Iran over nuclear inspections cannot continue indefinitely.
In his remarks, Grossi specifically mentioned two key issues: the lack of full access to highly enriched uranium reserves and the impossibility of securing nuclear facilities that have been bombed by the United States and Israel.
He emphasized that this long-standing impasse has negatively affected the organization’s ability to verify the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program, and its continuation could have serious consequences for the nuclear non-proliferation regime.
Grossi called for the immediate resumption of technical and political dialogue with Iranian authorities to find a lasting solution to remove obstacles to the organization’s inspection and monitoring.
These statements are made at a time when indirect talks between Iran and the United States have not made significant progress in recent months and tensions over Iran’s nuclear program continue.
