Pakistan’s Awami National Party calls for immediate reopening of trade routes with Afghanistan

The Central Council of the Awami National Party of Pakistan (ANP), emphasizing the extensive dependence of the economy of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan on trade with Afghanistan, considered the closure of trade routes a direct attack on the economy of these regions and called for the immediate reopening of these routes.

In a meeting, members of the council described the ongoing tensions with Afghanistan as dangerous for regional peace, adding that war is not a solution to problems under any circumstances.

They said Afghanistan and Pakistan should respect each other’s sovereignty and resolve all issues through dialogue and diplomacy.
