The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Emirate participated in the ECO Foreign Ministers’ Meeting for the first time

Maulvi Amir Khan, Mottaki, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, attended the 29th Foreign Ministers’ Meeting of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) held online and hosted by Kazakhstan for the first time.

The Foreign Minister spoke at the meeting about the Islamic Emirate’s four-year achievements in the fields of security, economy and trade, the comprehensive fight against drug cultivation and trafficking, and Afghanistan’s strategic geographical location as a bridge connecting the region.

Molavi Muttaqi emphasized that Afghanistan is ready to expand relations and cooperation with ECO and its member countries in all areas, and that member countries can benefit from Afghanistan’s extensive economic and trade capacities and opportunities within the framework of this organization.

The Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) includes ten countries, including Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, Azerbaijan, and the countries of Central Asia.
