Qatar’s new ambassador presents credentials to Iran’s foreign minister
Qatar’s new ambassador to Afghanistan, Murad al-Ashouti, presented his credentials to Maulvi Amir Khan, the foreign minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, at an official ceremony in Kabul on Tuesday.
Hamdullah Fitrat, deputy spokesman for the Islamic Emirate, announced this news in a press release on X.
Mr. Al-Qashouti previously served as Qatar’s charge d’affaires in Kabul.
Maulvi Amir Khan Muttaqi, while welcoming the new Qatari ambassador, wished him success in his diplomatic mission and expressed hope that bilateral relations would expand further.
He called relations between Afghanistan and Qatar “historic” and emphasized the development of trade and accelerating the process of transferring Afghan labor to Qatar.
The new Qatari ambassador also described the relations between the two countries as historic and pledged to make additional efforts to comprehensively strengthen bilateral relations.
He also emphasized that Qatar will continue its mediation policy and will work to bring the positions of Afghanistan and the international community closer together.
