Iran announces its readiness to mediate in disputes between Pakistan and Afghanistan
Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araqchi, in a phone call with Pakistani Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, announced Tehran’s readiness to help resolve the differences between Kabul and Islamabad.
Expressing concern over the current tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan, Araqchi stressed the need to continue dialogue between the two sides with the cooperation of influential countries in the region to reduce tensions and resolve differences, adding that Iran is ready to provide any assistance to achieve this goal.
The Pakistani Foreign Minister, explaining the current situation and the results of Islamabad’s recent talks with Kabul, emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the region.
This call comes as tensions between Afghanistan and the Pakistani military regime over border and security issues have increased in recent months.
