Pakistan calls for TTP to be transferred to Afghanistan over Istanbul talks
Media quoted informed sources in Turkey as saying that in the ongoing talks between the Afghan and Pakistani delegations, Islamabad has raised demands that have nothing to do with Afghanistan and the Afghan delegation has presented its views to the mediators.
According to the sources, the Pakistani delegation has asked Afghanistan to transfer the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) from Pakistani territory to Afghanistan.
Sources described the request as “surprising” because on the one hand they accuse Afghanistan of harboring TTP members and on the other hand they demand the group’s transfer to Afghan territory.
Sources have emphasized that the Islamic Emirate is never willing to create a big problem for itself by force and will reject this demand.
In contrast, the reasonable demands of the Afghan delegation not to use Pakistani territory and airspace by Pakistan or ISIS against Afghanistan have not been accepted by Islamabad.
It is worth noting that officials from both sides have not yet publicly reacted.
