Maduro:Venezuela has prepared 5,000 Russian anti-aircraft missiles to counter US aggression

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro announced that his country has 5,000 Russian-made Igla anti-aircraft missiles to resist a possible US aggression.

In a televised ceremony attended by military leaders, Maduro described these Russian portable missiles as a “guarantee of peace” and said: “No military force in the world knows the value of the Igla-S, and Venezuela has deployed at least 5,000 of them in key air defense positions.”

Meanwhile, the US military announced an attack on a suspected drug smuggling ship in the Caribbean.

According to a statement from the US Department of Defense, the attack, the sixth since early September, was carried out using special operations aircraft and killed all those on board the ship.

Washington officials claim the ship departed from Venezuela and was carrying drugs for cartels linked to the Maduro government.
