Yemen’s Ansar Allah transformed from a rebel group into a key regional player after winning the two-year war

With its decisive victory in the two-year war against Israel, Yemen’s Ansarullah movement has been elevated from a rebel group to an important regional player in the eyes of the world.

According to Middle East Eye, with the establishment of a ceasefire in Gaza, Ansarullah leader Abdul Malik al-Houthi has ordered a halt to attacks on Israel and its associated ships until Israel fully respects the ceasefire.

During the two years of conflict, Ansar Allah managed to reduce maritime traffic in the Gulf of Aden by 70% and targeted Israeli targets with periodic shelling.

According to reports, the United States spent more than $1 billion on military attacks in Yemen, but these operations failed to stop Ansar Allah, and Donald Trump was forced to back down and abandon them regardless.

Ansar Allah officials have called this achievement a “strategic victory” and emphasized that Yemen now plays a decisive role in regional equations.
