Russia-China trade volume exceeds $240 billion for second consecutive year

Russian Ambassador to China Igor Morgulov announced in an interview with Sputnik that the volume of trade between Moscow and Beijing has exceeded $240 billion for the second year in a row.

He emphasized that the two countries have made a conscious choice to strengthen friendly relations and mutual cooperation, and this cooperation is expanding in various economic fields.

According to data from the General Administration of Customs of China, the volume of bilateral trade in 2024 reached a record $244.819 billion, an increase of 1.9% compared to 2023.

This is despite the fact that in 2023, trade between the two countries had increased significantly by 26.3% to $240.11 billion.

Morgolov considered the success of this route a sign of the strength of economic relations between the two countries.

These developments are occurring at a time when economic relations between Moscow and Beijing have significantly strengthened, especially in the wake of Western sanctions against Russia.
