According to the APA news agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, citing an informed source, a delegation from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will travel to Tehran next week to discuss the implementation of the law approved by the Iranian parliament to suspend cooperation with the organization.
The source emphasized that the talks will focus solely on political issues and that no inspections of nuclear facilities are on the agenda of this delegation, so that the organization’s inspectors will not be present in the composition of this group.
The decision follows the passage of a law in Iran’s parliament in late June that halted official cooperation with the organization due to US and Israeli attacks on the Natanz, Isfahan, and Fars nuclear facilities.
These developments come after Iran announced that it would not resume full cooperation with the organization until it receives security guarantees for its nuclear facilities and the organization condemns attacks on these facilities.
