Trump: US sells weapons to NATO to be sent to Ukraine
US President Donald Trump announced in an interview with NBC that the United States would sell weapons to NATO member countries so that these weapons could be sent to Ukraine.
According to the Associated Press, Trump said: “We send weapons to NATO, and NATO pays for it 100 percent, and then NATO transfers these weapons to Ukraine.”
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio also explained on Friday that some of the weapons needed by Ukraine are in the possession of NATO allies in Europe, and these countries can purchase replacement equipment from the United States by transferring these weapons to Ukraine.
These statements come as Russian missile and drone attacks on Ukraine have intensified in recent days.
