Following the shooting of a delegation of foreign diplomats in the West Bank by Israeli army forces, European countries have condemned the action and demanded accountability from Tel Aviv.
Reuters reported on Wednesday, May 21, that the incident took place near the city of Jenin and sparked strong reactions in European capitals; France and Italy summoned Israeli ambassadors to explain the incident.
The Israeli Defense Ministry announced that the diplomatic delegation had deviated from the approved route and entered an area they were not allowed to enter, and army forces fired warning shots to drive them away.
The Spanish Foreign Ministry also confirmed the presence of a Spanish citizen among the delegation and announced that it is coordinating with other countries for a joint response
