Yemeni forces announce targeting of Saudi Typhoon fighter jet

Yahya Saree, spokesman for the Yemeni armed forces, announced on Thursday morning that a Saudi Typhoon fighter jet was targeted by a surface-to-air missile fired by Yemeni forces in the skies over Saada province.

According to Al-Masirah TV, the fighter jet had taken off from Taif Air Base and, according to a spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces, was targeted while conducting an operation in Saada airspace.

Following these statements, images that are said to show the moment the missile hit the fighter jet have been published by some local sources; these sources have also raised the possibility that the fighter jet crashed in Yemeni territory.
