Reuters reported that oil prices rose on Thursday following an increase in attacks on ships in the Gulf and Strait of Hormuz and concerns about disruptions to Middle East oil supplies.

Brent crude oil prices rose 1.33 percent to $101.53, and US West Texas Intermediate crude oil rose 1.26 percent to $89.39 per barrel.

Based on this report, attacks on oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz last week reached the highest weekly level since the beginning of the Iran war.
