Russian Foreign Ministry official Alexander Sternik has said that Moscow is constantly monitoring the security situation along the Tajik-Afghan border and will continue to cooperate with Tajikistan to strengthen the security of the country’s southern borders.
According to Sternik, technical equipment, military equipment, and weapons are provided to the Tajik border forces through Russian security agencies.
He added that this assistance is provided within the framework of the five-year program of the Collective Security Treaty Organization to strengthen the border between Tajikistan and Afghanistan, as well as the modernization program of the Tajik armed forces.
