Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that the deployment of European forces in Ukraine would mean European countries entering a direct war with Russia.
Putin has emphasized that Russia does not threaten European countries and has no intention of doing so; however, according to him, some European leaders are pushing their countries towards confrontation with Moscow, while there is no basis for such a conflict.
The Russian president has also accused the West of having supported separatists in the Caucasus in the past to pressure Russia and now using the “neo-Nazi regime in Ukraine for the same purpose; everything was settled by the results of World War II,” he said.
Putin added that European citizens are increasingly becoming aware of the political direction of their leaders, and cited the election results of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party as an example of this trend.
