Afghan Red Cross :Afghanistan is slipping out of the global spotlight despite its vast humanitarian needs

Yasmine Perez-Desimas, Director of Operations for the International Committee of the Red Cross, has said that despite the vast humanitarian needs, Afghanistan is gradually falling out of the spotlight of the international community and the people of this country are facing serious difficulties in surviving.

In an interview with AFP in Kabul, he called on the international community not to forget Afghanistan. Decimaz also said that more than 100 health centers specializing in treating children with severe malnutrition have been closed across the country due to a reduction in international aid.

The reduction in aid continues even as the World Health Organization and the International Committee of the Red Cross have also emphasized the importance of maintaining health and nutrition services; the International Committee of the Red Cross reported supporting 47 Afghan Red Crescent health centers in the first half of 2026, where 4,339 malnourished children benefited from nutrition programs.
