The Home Office said that in the year to June 2026, Afghans made up 13 percent of migrants who entered the country by small boats and whose nationality was registered.
According to the ministry, Afghans were the third largest group of migrants after Eritreans and Sudanese.
The number of Afghans entering the UK via this route has decreased by 37% compared to last year.
A total of 33,374 people arrived in the UK by small boats during this period, a 23% decrease compared to the year to June 2025.
