Fire at Islamabad government hospital kills at least 15 newborns
At least 15 babies have died in a fire at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) government hospital in Islamabad, Pakistani media reported.
According to a report by Geo TV, the fire broke out in the hospital’s obstetrics and gynecology ward, and the initial cause was a problem with the cooling system.
At the time of the fire, 16 infants were hospitalized in this ward, of which only one was saved. After the fire was contained, rescue forces continued the cooling operation.
