Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, head of the Sovereignty Council and commander of the Sudanese army, in response to his refusal to be granted a visa to enter the United States to attend the United Nations General Assembly, said that Sudanese people do not need permission from any country to remain in their country.
“We do not ask for visas from any country and we do not ask permission from anyone,” Al-Burhan said in a speech at Khartoum Stadium.
He also emphasized that Sudan will not surrender to foreign pressure and blackmail and is not willing to make concessions or bow down to any party.
The United States has not issued a visa to Al-Burhan to travel to New York and speak at the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly. Various sources said that this decision was related to the disagreement over the ceasefire plan in the Sudanese war.
