Joint exercise between Russian border forces and seven other countries to counter security threats

The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has announced that border forces from eight member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) participated in a joint command and staff exercise in the Leningrad Region of Russia.

The aim of this exercise is to identify sabotage groups and prepare to repel a possible armed attack in border areas.

This military exercise was conducted under the leadership of the Russian Border Guard Forces and based on the cooperation program of the member states to strengthen border security.

Representatives from the border forces of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan participated in the exercise.
