Electricity Chairman Meets with Tajik Energy Minister in Dushanbe, Emphasizes Accelerating CASA-1000 Project

Mullah Abdul Haq Hamkar, CEO of Afghanistan Electricity Company, met with Tajik Energy Minister Dalir Juma in Dushanbe and discussed strengthening cooperation in the electricity sector and reviewing progress and challenges of the CASA-1000 project.

Mr. Hammar emphasized the need to accelerate the implementation of the CASA-1000 project, resolve the problems of the contracting companies, and strengthen technical coordination, and appreciated Tajikistan’s efforts in this regard.

He added that joint coordination in the electricity sector could contribute to economic growth and regional stability.

Dalir Juma also considered the CASA 1000 project an important step in regional connectivity and the development of economic cooperation, and assured continued support and efforts to accelerate this project.

The CASA 1000 project is one of the important electricity transmission projects between Central and South Asia, the implementation process of which has made significant progress in Afghanistan.
