Afghan Defense Forces seize 74 weapons smuggled from Pakistan in eastern zone
The Ministry of National Defense says that members of the 201st Khalid bin Walid (RA) Army Corps’ reconnaissance and intelligence unit have discovered and seized 74 light and heavy weapons based on reconnaissance reports and during operations in various areas of the eastern zone.
According to the Ministry of Defense, these weapons were smuggled from Pakistan to Afghanistan, and included Pikas, Kalashnikovs, M16s, mortars, AK-47s, Drazkovs, thousands of rounds of ammunition, and other military equipment.
The Ministry of Defense has claimed that these weapons were being transferred to Afghanistan with the aim of carrying out destructive activities and has emphasized that the Afghan Defense Forces will not allow these weapons to be used to threaten the security and stability of the country.
