Local sources reported several explosions in the Jebel Ali Industrial Area in Dubai on Wednesday morning (5th of Augest). According to these sources, at least three explosions were heard and a fire broke out in a fuel warehouse or tank.
Emirati media also reported that seven explosions were heard within a period of about 20 minutes and large columns of smoke rose into the air from Jebel Ali Port.
Published images show the presence of rescue forces and the extent of destruction in the Marina area of Jebel Ali Port; reports have also been published of the arrest of two people on charges of filming the scene of the fire.
Details about the main cause of the explosion, the extent of damage, and possible casualties from this event have not yet been announced.
