Trump sets ‘red line’ for ending ceasefire with Iran

American media outlets have reported, citing US officials, that US President Donald Trump has privately told his advisers that he will consider ending the ceasefire with Tehran if American soldiers are killed by Iran.

According to this report, Trump is still maintaining the ceasefire, although it is claimed that clashes and mutual attacks between the two sides have continued during this time.

Trump has also said that the ceasefire does not mean a complete cessation of hostilities, explaining it to reporters: “In that part of the world, a ceasefire means when you shoot less intensely.”

This report is being published at a time when, according to media reports, talks about a possible agreement between Washington and Tehran have not yet reached a conclusion.
