Regional media and the Axios news website have reported, citing an American official, that Iran has targeted a US military base in Jordan with a missile attack, following which several explosions were heard at the base.
At the same time, some media outlets and unofficial sources have reported that at least one ballistic missile hit the base and released the first images from the scene.
In contrast, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps launched a surprise attack against American forces in Jordan, but all missiles were intercepted and the country’s forces are on alert.
