US President Donald Trump has claimed in his latest statements that the United States’ goal in sending troops and military equipment to the region is to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, not to change the regime in the country.
In response to these statements, some media outlets and political movements have recalled that at the beginning of the conflict, Trump had raised regime change and Iran’s complete surrender as one of his goals and demands.
Trump has also claimed that the United States has been able to defeat Iran militarily.
