China: Japan are playing with fire by reviewing nuclear policy

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian has accused Tokyo of playing with “fire” in response to the Japanese government’s whispers about a review of its nuclear policies.

He said recent statements about revising Japan’s “three non-nuclear principles,” including not building, not possessing, and not allowing the deployment of nuclear weapons, indicate the increasing influence of right-wing currents in the country’s political structure.

A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman called on Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi to stop what he called “gambling on the future of more than 100 million Japanese citizens.”
