US Senate approves bill to limit military operations against Iran

Reuters reported that the United States Senate has passed a resolution that would require formal authorization from Congress to continue any military operations against Iran.

The resolution was passed with 50 votes in favor and 48 against.

Based on this plan, Donald Trump has been asked to stop any military action against Iran without obtaining congressional authorization.

Reports indicate that four Republican senators, including Rand Paul, Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, and Bill Cassidy, also voted in favor of the resolution.

The vote comes as debates continue over the US president’s authority to use military force and the role of Congress in war decisions.
