US Treasury Secretary Scott Besant announced in a press conference that three basic conditions have been set for the issue of lifting sanctions against Iran to be put on the negotiating table.
He claimed that there will be no talks about easing sanctions until the Strait of Hormuz is reopened, Iran agrees to deliver enriched uranium, and provides guarantees that it will not build nuclear weapons.
The US Treasury Secretary also claimed that Iran has agreed to talk about its nuclear program for the first time under Donald Trump.
Besant said that the Trump administration has been able to force Tehran to negotiate and provide a commitment to not having nuclear weapons, a claim that, according to him, has never been made before by previous US administrations.
