Sputnik News Agency reports that Russian President Vladimir Putin will pay an official visit to China on May 19-20 at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Before his trip, Putin emphasized in a speech to the Chinese people that Moscow and Beijing are working together to defend international law and the United Nations Charter.
He also said that Russia and China are interested in the people of the two countries becoming closer and getting to know each other better.
The Russian President added that relations between the two countries have reached an unprecedented level and the two sides are making joint efforts to expand bilateral cooperation and all-round development.
