Transporting more than 229 thousand tons of goods through Railway lines in a week

The Ministry of Public Works of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan announced that a total of 229,536 tons of transportation was carried out by railways from 4 to 10 May.

According to this report, 158,133 tons of transfers were made through Hairatan Port, 21,797 tons through Aqineh Port, 19,195 tons through Turghandi Port, and 30,411 tons through the Khaf-Herat route, which includes non-oil petroleum products and other imported and exported items.

According to the ministry, part of these transfers are exports, and last week, 264 tons of pomegranate juice were exported abroad.

The Ministry of Public Works has added that increasing the amount of transportation and exports through railways can help create job opportunities, increase national revenues, and strengthen the country’s economic stability and self-sufficiency.

The ministry has emphasized that in order to further increase transfers, it is trying to provide appropriate conditions and create the necessary facilities for traders to ensure that the process of transferring goods is smooth.
