Armenian Prime Minister: Armenian border guards will replace Russian troops

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has announced that the country’s border guards will gradually replace the Russian border forces that currently guard Armenia’s borders with Iran and Turkey.

He added that, based on an agreement signed with Russia in the 1990s, control of the borders should be gradually transferred to the Armenian border forces as their capabilities increase.
