Esmail Beqaei, spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, emphasized in the last press conference of 2026 that the best persuaders to stop the aggression are the brave Iranian armed forces, who defend the country’s sovereignty with all their might.
In response to a question about the US’s use of the territory of neighboring countries, he said: “We warned the countries of the region months ago not to place their territory at the disposal of the aggressor. Everyone assured us that this would not happen, but what we saw was the US’s continued use of the facilities of these countries.”
Baqaei added: We have no problem with any country and will have relations with them forever, but we have been violated and self-defense is our inherent right.
Regarding the claim by Trump’s special representative Steve Witkoff that Iran is threatening to produce 11 nuclear bombs, the spokesperson said: “This claim is completely false and ridiculous. Having 60 percent material does not mean a bomb. These claims are part of a campaign of lies and deception to justify war and aggression.”
Regarding drone attacks on some neighboring countries and the possibility of false flags, Baqai added: “The enemies are using every means to create a rift between Iran and the countries of the region. False flag operations are a reality that the United States and the Zionist regime have used many times.”
He emphasized that the Iranian armed forces explicitly declare any target they attack, and that the cases they have not carried out have also been clearly denied. Regional countries must avoid prejudice and haste.
