The Wall Street Journal reported, citing US officials, that Iranian missiles recently targeted Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia, seriously damaging five US Air Force tanker aircraft parked on the ground.
This attack was part of Iran’s broad response to US and Israeli aggression against Iranian soil and caused heavy damage to US air logistics capabilities in the region.
Previously, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) had also confirmed that a KC-135 refueling aircraft was shot down by resistance forces while on a mission over Iraq.
These incidents indicate an escalation of operations against US military infrastructure and assets in the Persian Gulf region.
