Gerasimov reports to Putin that 334 settlements and 6,640 square kilometers have been controlled this year

Valery Gerasimov, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, announced in a report to President Vladimir Putin that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have taken control of 334 settlements and more than 6,640 square kilometers of territory this year.

According to Gerasimov, in this month alone (December  31), Russian forces have taken control of 32 settlements and about 700 square kilometers of territory.

The report comes as Russia’s military operations in Ukraine continue and Moscow emphasizes its advances on the ground.
