More than 2,553 Afghan migrants return from Iran and Pakistan in one day
According to the High Commission for Refugees, 2,553 Afghan refugees in 668 families returned to Afghanistan from Iran and Pakistan yesterday.
Mullah Hamdullah Fitrat, deputy spokesman for the Islamic Emirate, said the migrants had entered the country through Islam Qala (Herat), Silk Bridge, Nimroz, Spin Boldak (Kandahar), Bahram Che Helmand and Torkham (Nangarhar) borders.
He added that on the same day, 694 returnee families, totaling 4,310 people, were transferred to their original areas, and necessary assistance was provided to 531 families.
Also, 747 SIM cards from telecommunications companies have been distributed to these immigrants.
The day before, 2,370 Afghan migrants were forcibly returned from Iran and Pakistan.
