Chad suspends visa issuance for Americans; We respect and are proud of this country’s leader
The Chadian government announced on Thursday (June 5) that it has suspended visa issuance to American citizens in response to the country’s inclusion on the United States travel ban list.
Chadian President Idriss Deby posted a message on his Facebook page, writing: “I have ordered the government to act on the principle of reciprocity and suspend the issuance of visas to American citizens until further notice.”
He added that Chad has no planes to give away, no billions of dollars to give away, but Chad has its dignity and pride.
Chad is one of seven African countries on a list of 12 countries subject to a travel ban by the US government; Afghanistan is also on the list.
