US President Joe Biden announced in a short speech after the ceasefire agreement that the first phase of this agreement will last for six weeks and includes “a complete ceasefire, the withdrawal of Israeli forces from all populated areas of Gaza and the release of a number of captives.” Hamas includes the women of the elderly and injured. In return, Israel will release hundreds of Palestinian prisoners.
Palestinians can return to their neighborhoods in all areas of Gaza and humanitarian aid will be provided to Gaza.
There are various issues to negotiate for the transition from phase one to phase two, but the plan says that if the negotiations take more than six weeks, a ceasefire will be in place while the negotiations continue.
Negotiators will seek a permanent end to the war in the second phase of the ceasefire agreement.
Hamas and its allied groups are going to release 33 hostages. In return, Israel releases hundreds of Palestinian prisoners.
In a possible third phase of the deal, any remains of hostages who were killed would be returned to their families and a major reconstruction plan for Gaza would begin.
