India lifts ban on Salman Rushdie’s satanic verses

A court in India overturned a decades-old ban on the import of Salman Rushdie’s novel The Satanic Verses because the government was unable to find the original ruling.

In 1988, India was the first country to ban this novel, which is offensive to Islam and the Prophet of Islam, after which Imam Khomeini (RA) issued a fatwa on the authorship of Mahdur al-Dam, and widespread protests were formed in different countries.

This presentation was considered blasphemous by many Muslims and caused protests and threats against this British-Indian writer.

It is worth mentioning that after three decades of the book “Ayat Shaitan by Salman Rushdie, a British writer of Indian origin, was banned in India; This action is likely to anger Muslims, especially Muslims in India.
