US President Donald Trump met with Syrian interim President Ahmed al-Sharaa, also known as Abu Muhammad al-Julani, at the White House on Monday (November 10, 2025), an event that marks the first meeting of a Syrian leader with the White House since 1946.
The two sides focused on regional stability, the integration of the Kurdish SDF forces into the Syrian army, and security dialogue with Israel.
The Syrian Foreign Ministry described the meeting as friendly.
Trump wrote on Truth Social: It was an honor to meet with Al-Sharaa, the advocate for Middle East peace.
