According to reports, the US Fifth Fleet base in Bahrain was targeted by missile and drone attacks this morning, while regional media reported the sounding of sirens and the occurrence of several explosions in Bahrain.
Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior has confirmed that the alarm has been activated and has called on citizens and residents of the country to immediately seek refuge in the nearest safe place. Some sources have also reported three explosions at the American base in Juffair.
Meanwhile, a number of media outlets reported that the Patriot defense system failed to intercept some missiles and that the Al-Juffair base was directly targeted; so far, American officials have not released details about the extent of damage or possible casualties from the attack.
