Two killed in school shooting in Philippines
Philippine police say a 10th-grade student has been killed in a shooting at a school in the south of the country, and the gunman has taken his own life after the shooting.
The incident occurred at the Catholic University of Ateneo de Zamboanga on the island of Mindanao; police said a ninth-grader entered the school grounds with a rifle and a shotgun and opened fire inside a classroom.
Police have announced that investigations are ongoing to determine the motive for the shooting and that exact information about the number of injured has not yet been provided.
This is the second deadly school shooting in the Philippines in the past two months. In June, three students were killed and 20 others were injured in a similar incident in the center of the country.
