The Norwegian national football team, led by Erling Haaland, managed to defeat the Brazilian national team 2-1 in the round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup and advance to the quarterfinals.

The match between the two teams took place last night, and the first half ended goalless.

In the second half, Holland opened the scoring for Brazil in the 79th minute with a header from Andreas Schildrop’s cross, and in the 90th minute, he scored his and his team’s second goal using the same player’s pass.

The Brazilian national team made up for one goal in the final minutes of second-half stoppage time through a penalty kick by Neymar, but this goal did not prevent the team from being eliminated.

With these two goals, Holland’s goal tally at the 2026 World Cup reached seven, and she topped the women’s goal scoring chart of the competition alongside Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe.
