Al Jazeera English reported that red flags and banners were widely displayed at the farewell ceremony for Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the martyred leader of the Iranian Revolution, in the Tehran mosque.
According to the report, flags with slogans such as “Ya Latharat Al-Hussein” and the newly designed slogan “Ya Latharat Khamenei” have been seen throughout Tehran’s Grand Mosque.
Al Jazeera added that the slogan “O Allah, O martyrs of Al-Hussein” is used in Shiite history as a symbol of a call for revenge, and the use of the version attributed to Khamenei was said to carry a political and symbolic message in this ceremony.
