The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has announced that approximately 100,000 Lebanese students may be deprived of their education following the damage or destruction of 340 schools as a result of Israeli attacks.
UNICEF has warned that if urgent action is not taken before September, a large number of Lebanese children will be unable to attend school next year due to the inability to rebuild damaged schools.
According to an assessment by the Lebanese Ministry of Education, supported by UNICEF, 340 schools in the affected areas have been damaged or destroyed, of which 17 have been completely destroyed.
The institution has emphasized that a large portion of these schools need major repairs or complete reconstruction before the start of the new academic year.
