US Court of Auditors reports delays in long-range hypersonic missile program

The official report of the US Government Accountability Office reports continued technical and production problems in the program to build the country’s first long-range hypersonic missile system.

According to this report, Washington has faced successive delays in the operationalization process of this project. The project, which was supposed to enter service two years ago, has so far failed to meet its time and production goals.

The report also states that the new timeline represents a two-year delay compared to the initial plan and a nine-month delay compared to the organization’s latest official estimates.
