Russia supports reactivation of Afghanistan working group in Shanghai Cooperation Organization

Bakhtiar Hakimov, the Russian President’s special representative to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, has announced that Moscow has stable and reliable relations with Kabul and supports the reactivation of the organization’s working group on Afghanistan.

He said that most member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization also support this initiative and consider it an important step towards regional coordination on the situation in Afghanistan.

Khakimov added that at last year’s Shanghai Cooperation Organization meeting, the issue of resuming the activities of this working group was discussed, and now the ground is better prepared for its advancement.
