British Foreign Secretary visits China and India to discuss global challenges

According to reports, British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper will begin her trip to China on Monday, (31th of May ), and will also travel to India later in the week.

According to Reuters, the main focus of these trips is to examine the most important global challenges, including the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, the war between Russia and Ukraine, and the recent outbreak of Ebola.

According to the British government, Ms. Cooper will meet with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Vice President Han Zheng in China on June 2, and will also travel to the city of Shenzhen to participate in science and technology programs.

The trip comes as relations between London and Beijing have entered a new phase following the meeting between Keir Starmer and Xi Jinping in January, with both sides emphasizing expanding cooperation in trade, investment and technology.

According to reports, after China, he will arrive in India on June 4th and will meet with Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar and hold talks with businessmen and university professors as part of the UK India Vision 2035 plan.
