Putin: Russia-Kazakhstan relations are on the path to expansion

Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a meeting with Kazakh officials in Astana, announced that relations between Russia and Kazakhstan are developing dynamically, based on equality and mutual respect.

Putin said that relations between the two countries have now reached the level of “comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance” and cooperation continues in all sectors.

Referring to the growth of trade exchanges in 2025, the Russian President added that about 70 joint investment projects between the two countries are being implemented, and cooperation in the economic, cultural, and educational sectors has also been developed.

He also announced that about 60,000 Kazakh citizens study at Russian universities, and branches of eight major Russian universities operate in Kazakhstan.

Putin described the two countries’ joint cooperation within the framework of organizations such as BRICS, the United Nations Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and the Eurasian Economic Union as an example of constructive cooperation between Moscow and Astana.
